How it works

Four steps, and your group is only involved in the first one.

Most consignment arrangements fail because they create work for volunteers. This one is built so that once you have said yes, the next thing that happens is a payment.

01

You set the material aside.

No sorting, no scanning, no research.

Put the donations your shelves cannot use in a corner. That is the whole ask. You do not need to work out what is valuable, because that is the part we are paid to do, and it is the part that takes equipment and practice.

Groups often want to pre-sort, and we would gently talk you out of it. The items that carry the most value are rarely the ones that look valuable. A worn paperback with a small print run can be worth more than a shelf of pristine hardbacks, and a volunteer cannot reasonably be expected to know which is which.

02

We collect it.

In person across Tampa Bay. Prepaid freight anywhere else.

If you are in the Tampa Bay region we come to you, load it ourselves, and leave your space clear the same day. Further afield we send prepaid labels and arrange a carrier.

This is the part that separates a local partner from a mail-in service. Nobody at your library has to box anything, weigh anything, or wait in for a courier. See pickup and shipping for how each option works.

03

We identify, list, store and ship.

Every unit is scanned against live market data.

Each item is checked against current selling data, graded honestly for condition, listed on Amazon and other marketplaces, stored in our facility, and shipped when it sells. Customer service and returns are ours.

Items that will not sell online are not sent back to clutter your space again. They go into our monthly $1 sale or, if they are genuinely finished, to recycling. You are never left holding the remainder.

04

You get paid half the net profit.

Reported and paid on a regular cycle.

After the marketplace takes its cut and shipping is covered, what is left is split evenly. Half to your organization, half to us. You put in nothing and you carry no cost.

The terms page sets out precisely what "net" means, because that word does a great deal of work in this industry and it deserves to be spelled out.
