Terms and split

Half the profit is yours, and here is exactly what that sentence means.

Consignment terms are usually vague in the one place that matters. This page is written so a treasurer can read it aloud at a board meeting and answer every question that follows.

01

What “net profit” means here.

The only definition that matters.

Net profit is what remains after the marketplace fee and the actual shipping cost of the item that sold. That remainder is divided in half.

We do not deduct our labour, our storage, our software, our fuel, or the cost of the items that never sold. Those are our costs and they come out of our half. That is the whole point of the arrangement: your group carries no risk, so your group absorbs no losses.

02

What it costs your group.

Nothing, at any stage.

  • No sign-up fee, no minimum volume, no monthly charge.
  • No cost for collection, whether we drive to you or send freight.
  • No charge for the items that do not sell, and no obligation to take them back.
  • No exclusivity. Keep running your own book sale exactly as you do now.

That last point matters more than it sounds. We are not asking to replace your sale. Most groups send us only what the sale could not move.

03

Ending it.

Thirty days, in writing, no penalty.

Either side can end the arrangement with thirty days’ written notice. Anything already listed sells through and is paid out on the normal cycle. There is no termination fee and no clause that makes leaving expensive.

A partner who feels trapped is not a partner. If it is not working for your group, we would rather know.

04

Insurance, liability and the paperwork.

MaxX Multi Media LLC is a Florida limited liability company in good standing, and can supply a W-9 and a certificate of insurance on request. Boards frequently need both before a vote, so ask early and we will have them to you the same week.

The agreement itself is short. We are happy to send it in advance so it can be circulated before a meeting rather than signed in one.
